Rowlands pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Team at NHS Education for Scotland to support a year-long important pharmacy project
Senior Rowlands Pharmacy manager, Laura McElroy, will join NES pharmacy as one of the four successful Scottish Pharmacist Clinical Leadership Fellows commissioned by the Scottish Government. Laura’s Clinical Fellowship will last 12 months and for that period she will step down from some of her responsibilities as Divisional Business Manager for Scotland.
This part-time role will involve taking forward a number of key priority activities detailed within the Scottish Government Pharmacy Strategy: Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care. Laura will focus on the community pharmacy sector specifically looking at service redesign and improvement.
During this period, Laura will also continue working with Rowlands’ Superintendents team focusing on supporting the implementation of the Scottish Government policy for community pharmacy and professional standards in Rowlands’ pharmacies in Scotland.
Superintendent Director of Rowlands, Margaret MacRury said, “This is not only a great opportunity for Laura but an opportunity for Rowlands managers to be part of helping to lead the way on the future community pharmacy agenda in Scotland and the increasingly pivotal role that pharmacists will play in reshaping the delivery of primary care. I would like to congratulate Laura on her successful appointment as a Clinical Leadership Fellow and welcome her to the Superintendents team”.
