PHOENIX have announced the next stage of its growth strategy in Northern Ireland with the acquisition of a significantly larger medicines distribution depot in Belfast.
The new site is approximately six miles from the current depot, but offers five times the capacity we currently have which means we can process additional volume and provide customers with a wider range.
Building work to make the site suitable for PHOENIX operations commenced in December 2018 and it is anticipated that the new depot be fully operational Spring/Summer 2019. In the meantime, there will be no disruption to the high standards of service they provide.
As a result of our continued growth in Northern Ireland, this larger depot will ensure our customers receive an exemplary level of services and less reliance on overseas delivery. This is great news for the community as the new move will ensure more jobs and increased access to wider range of products to our customers.
The depot opening will also ensure more locally stocked surgical lines supplied, which will allow us to be more responsive to the needs of our customers with more capacity and resource than ever before, delivering exceptional service at a local level.
This is a major investment by PHOENIX in Northern Ireland and is a clear sign of our confidence that we can and will continue to grow our business through unrivalled service: that is our commitment to our customers and patients. Needless to say we recognise this investment is required to better support the needs of our Northern Ireland customers and we are optimistic that our business will continue to grow.
Commenting on the investment Stuart Lucas – Managing Director, Phoenix Speciality Services, for PHOENIX said, “This is an exciting development for our hospital customers. We are delighted to be able to provide a wider range of contract and non-contract lines and deliver continued exceptional service to our customers in Northern Ireland”.
